Disability Support Worker 

    Location: Newcastle, Newcastle, Maitland & Hunter NSW

    Job Type: Part time

    Salary: $27.17 – $35.51 per hour

    We’re looking for incredible Support Workers to bring compassion, energy, and heart into our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes and community settings. You’ll be part of a purpose-driven organisation that really cares about its people—both clients and staff.


    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    As a Support Worker, you’ll team up with House Coordinators and the Program Manager to help individuals with disabilities live their best lives. You’ll provide hands-on support, meaningful companionship, and encouragement to help participants reach their personal, social, and everyday goals.

    • Collaborate on personalised Care Plans with clients, families, and coordinators.
    • Support clients with daily living activities like appointments, shopping, and social outings.
    • Help with self-care routines such as showering, dressing, and mealtimes.
    • Assist with household tasks like cooking, cleaning, and organising.
    • Work confidently with individuals who have higher physical needs or behaviours of concern.
    • Support clear communication, no matter the method – everyone deserves to be heard.
    • Build genuine, respectful, and positive relationships.

    Essential Criteria:

    Police Check

    NDIS Worker Screening Check

    Working with Children Check

    Current First Aid Certificate

    Current CPR Certificate

    Driver’s License & access to fully insured vehicle

    NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate

    A team-first attitude with the ability to work independently

    Confidence using Outlook and basic IT tools

    A smartphone and good vibes

    Desired Criteria:

    Certificate III/IV/Diploma in Disability, Youth Work, Community Services, Psychology, Social Work – or keen to study one!

    Experience working with people with disabilities or mental health needs
