DIESEL FITTER

    Location: Portsmith, Cairns & Far North QLD

    Job Type: Full time

    Salary: $60 – $65 per hour

    About the role

    We are seeking experienced Diesel Fitters to join our team. As a Diesel Fitter, you will play a crucial role in the diagnosis, servicing, repairs and improvements to our customers assets from commercial vessels, to super yachts to smaller private leisure craft.

    What you’ll be doing

    • Performing scheduled maintenance and inspections on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other components
    • Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues with diesel-powered equipment, and implementing effective repair solutions.
    • Rebuilding, overhauling, and replacing diesel engine components as required
    • Maintaining detailed records of all work performed and parts used
    • Supervising & collaborating with the wider team to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations
    • Adhering to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment

    What we’re looking for

    • Formal qualifications in Diesel Fitting or a related trade, such as a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
    • Experience as a Diesel Fitter, with a proven track record of maintaining and repairing heavy machinery and equipment
    • Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues
    • Strong technical knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems
    • Proficient in the use of a range of tools and equipment, including computerised diagnostic tools
    • Commitment to workplace health and safety, with a focus on following procedures and maintaining a safe work environment
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with team members and our wide customer base.
